Gonçalo Feio, Tondela’s head coach, called for unwavering belief from fans and the city following his team’s 2-0 win against Moreirense in the 33rd round of the I Liga. In a post-match press conference on Monday, May 11, Feio credited his players for delivering a response with a fully deserved victory.
“The congratulations go to our team and our players because they provided an answer. The victory is totally earned,” Feio said. He also thanked supporters for their energy during the match. “We didn’t want to drop back after the first goal, and I think until halftime we managed to maintain many moments of play in Moreirense’s half.”
Feio emphasized the importance of defensive solidity. “Solidity brings us closer to winning, and keeping clean sheets brings us closer to winning. For the first time this season, we have two consecutive games without conceding and two consecutive wins.”
He stressed that the mission must continue until the very end. “I ask everyone, the city, and all the people to believe, and let outside results not take away that belief and energy. We must do what we need to do and go for a third straight win.”

Feio also highlighted the quality of his team’s play. “We have many high-quality moves where the players show what they are capable of. I’ve always said this team has potential, can play, and has capable players. That is starting to emerge—the confidence.”
