Players from the New York Knicks and Atlanta Hawks were involved in a mass altercation during the sixth game of their first-round NBA playoff series.

The incident took place in the second quarter. During a free throw attempt, Knicks center Mitchell Robinson and Hawks guard Dyson Daniels engaged in aggressive physical play that escalated into a shoving match, then a full-scale melee involving most players on the court. One official attempting to separate the players was knocked to the floor.

As a result, Daniels was escorted off the court by staff and Hawks players, led by head coach Quin Snyder. The game resumed afterward.

The Knicks defeated the Hawks 140-89, winning the series 4-2 and advancing to the second round of the playoffs.

New York’s next opponent will be the winner of the series between Boston and Philadelphia (currently tied 3-3).
