The Opel Astra enters a new chapter with a redesigned look, marking a significant milestone as the brand celebrates 90 years of compact car history in 2026. This latest generation, including the Opel Astra and Astra Sports Tourer, focuses on the future with enhanced elegance, technical sophistication, modern aesthetics, and sustainability. It introduces standout design and technology features aimed at boosting its success in the compact segment.

Drawing clear inspiration from the high-performance Opel Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo prototype, the new Astra features a sleeker Opel Vizor front face, now narrower and more precise. The illuminated Opel Blitz emblem, first seen on the Grandland SUV, takes center stage on the grille. This glowing badge serves as the starting point for horizontal light bars stretching toward the headlights and vertical lines flowing into the hood crease. For the first time, the Astra incorporates the illuminated Opel Compass design theme. New 17- and 18-inch alloy wheels and fresh metallic paint options like Kontur White and Klover Green, combined with a black roof, further enhance its distinctive appearance.

The illuminated Opel Blitz, a signature feature from the Grandland SUV, now adorns the Astra’s front center. In terms of lighting, the Astra offers segment-exclusive Intelli-Lux HD adaptive headlights, featuring over 50,000 elements that isolate oncoming traffic faster and more precisely than previous matrix technologies. The digital adjustment of the forward light cone intuitively guides the driver’s vision around curves, with an additional lateral module filling in blind spots based on the steering angle. In adverse weather or fog, the system adjusts light intensity to reduce glare for opposing vehicles. This high-resolution lighting technology also detects traffic signs and dims LEDs to prevent reflective glare.

Inside, the Opel Astra introduces a cleaner cockpit layout with enhanced comfort. The standard Intelli-Seat seats, exclusive to Opel, feature a special central cutout inspired by road bike saddles to reduce pressure on the tailbone. This patented ergonomic design ensures relaxed and comfortable driving over long distances.

The Astra offers multiple seating comfort options. Customers can choose multi-adjustable seats with AGR certification, available in ReNewKnit upholstery, which is 100% recycled and recyclable and has the look of high-quality suede. These seats include multistage heating, electronic pneumatic lumbar support, massage, and memory functions. The monomaterial trim, unlike conventional materials, emphasizes sustainability without compromising luxury.
